be:
Yesterday - the hot water heater sprung a leak.
No damage.
But it needed to be replaced. To the tune of $500.00.
Husband stayed home today to get it done before the weekend.
Van door broke while ago. Finally took it in this morning.
Of course, there was a deductible. To the tune of $100.00
So much for the emergency fund.
But, there was an emergency fund. Hallelujuah.
Dave Ramsey was right. Murphy does exist.
As Tallie said, it's always something.
The flowers in my yard just begging to come in.
They help me forget about the drained bank account.
So we'll do a little spending freeze. Save and save some more.
Enjoy evenings home. Drink a few less lattes.
It is all good and this will be good.
Exercise a bit of discipline.

We are exercising a bit of discipline around here, too. We have NO extra at ALL. But I just wrote out the budget, figured out where we're at...and like you, we will just cinch things up a bit. Or...a lot. :) I will get real creative with the meals for four under $5!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that murphy is there---i hate him so much and want to kick his trash everytime he comes to visit. We have a little water situation here too. We found a wet mess in the back yard and cant figure out where the leak is coming from. Uhhhh. But thank goodness we have e-funds. I hate to dip into them, but its better than putting them on a credit card.
ReplyDeleteOh, those flowers are so pretty! Yay for an emergency fund. :) We recently had to use ours up too...had to get a new car. I'm glad it was there.
