Let's chat coffee
It is the most ironic thing. We made an investment in a Breville Espresso maker soon after returning from our honeymoon. We were blessed by a our friends and family with a generous wedding gift of money and wanted to treat ourselves with something special with it. It's no secret, I love coffee. I didn't realize though that buying this machine would actually result in me drinking less coffee and I am better for it.
Besides the goodness of this year, there has also been a good deal of struggles all related to my work. I won't get into details but I will sum it up with saying...it's been the worse year of my entire career. My sleep suffered and my coffee intake soared.
I didn't make a conscious choice to reduce my coffee...it just happened with switching over to the Breville. Making a decent espresso is no joke. A barista must have patience.and attention to detail. It might also require being a perfectionist...not that I am. Okay, I am.
I have gone from drinking endless cups of drip coffee everyday to at the most one americano before heading to the gym and then a latte to drink on my way to work. All (exception on the weekends) coffee consumption is done before 8:00 a.m. This is big for me!
My sleep is so much better and I have learned to really enjoy my coffee instead of sipping it all day long mindlessly. Espresso actually contains less caffeine than drip coffee so another win. These cookies are a win too!

ReplyDeleteSome time ago, I had to give up real coffee, for real health reasons. I still miss it, to this day.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoy, that you can still have real coffee. One of those little things, which we are not fully aware of, until it has to disappear from our lives.
This not meant, in a sad way. I prefer my health, to coffee. Just..... Pay attention to the little things... Which we tend to take for granted. -smile-
