Flow is the mental state of operation in which a person in an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity - Wikipedia
This summer has been nothing but fast and fabulous.
Two trips to Portland. Boating today. Shopping. Soccer sidelines. One more tournament next weekend. Tallie tries out for high school soccer on Monday. There was a vacation to Chelan in there too.
The summer quilt never got made. Knitting hardly got touched. Still working on finishing a book I started on vacation back in July. The garden thankfully has thrived mostly on its own. I worked my three days a week almost faithfully. I called in sick once. I stayed in bed that day until 3pm.
I have ate pretty much whatever. No food rules. Lots of homemade ice cream. I have exercised everyday. Sometimes run. Sometimes walk. I have thrown around the weights a bit lately. And, of course I get on my mat. Not as much as I use too but the desire is there - there is just only so much time.
There was no summer to-do list but there were several trips to the mall. I remember a day at IKEA and more stops at Starbucks than necessary. The kids rooms were messy. Some weeks the laundry barely got done. We had Taco Time for dinner when it was too hot to cook and the tater tots were good.
We never went blueberry picking. Well, we did on vacation but that doesn't it count. None of those blueberries made the freezer. I didn't can a thing. We did have a small garage sale. We gave our chickens away. Shocking, I know but true. I buy my eggs now.
I hardly blogged. I instagramed lots. I have several different tan lines. The girls even more. We became big fans of sunscreen. Sun spots on my face have been a teaching lesson. My hair has been mostly in a pony tail.
This has been a great summer. Time to flow into fall.
Flow is a good mental place to be in. It sounds like you've had a great summer. I have noticed a few sun spots on my face lately too. ;p
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteAnd you gave away the ladies? O my gosh! But, I am sure the upkeep to take care of them was really time consuming. We are doing a fall garden and I can't waits,
I love the blog changes. Summer is coming to a close for us in about a week. It went way too fast for me. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteI would say : a summer well lived !
ReplyDeletebtw : a lot of people who know we eat mostly organic food certainly wonder why we don't have our own chicken (it's trendy in the US, i know !)... our friends have an organic cheese, chicken & eggs farm nearby. no guilt !
