be:

The party was a huge success. Just as it was to start we looked outside and it was raining sideways. Needless to say, party attendees arrived late which made me a nervous. I seriously wondered if I had put the wrong date on the invites. My mom and dad's friends (mostly all from where they live) are all so kind. When it was all said and done - I think we had around 60 attend. We had a really good time.

I had the crazy idea to do a photo booth.  Josh was going to take the pictures. Well, these are the only two that were taken as I completely forgot about the idea until it was too late. No big deal - the thought was fun and cutting out the mustaches gave the girls something to do prior. Actually, the girls helped out quite a bit.

My niece with my grand nephew. It was so good they could both be there.

Tallie, Mom and Dad.

We had plenty of food leftover and lots of tulips too. So, at the end I started sending tulips home with everyone. One lady had them in her walker basket and they looked so cute there. I was so tired by the end of the day.

There are words I want to say about family and about friendship. This party taught me the value of both. The words are actually just warmth I feel in my heart. It was just a really good day. I'm still enjoying it three days later. The cake was really good too.  This is what I wore minus the jeans underneath.

  2. What a gift of love you have given your parents. And such memories they will forever cherish. Bringing all those people together-- family and friends-- to honor them and show support and reminisce.

Well done and so beautiful, Denise.

  4. i love this, what a beautiful party you held! i think about friendships for older people and how important they must be... as quiet as i like things to be, a part of me could see myself living in one of those bustling senior communities where everyone knows your name and there is always something to do or someone to chat with. keeps you young, i think.

    love the dress too!

  5. I loved reading about this party and seeing the pictures. What a sweet way for you to honor your parent's marriage. I'm happy for everyone that it went so well. The food looks delicious. I always get nervous when I throw a party, that nobody will come. ; )
