make:go:grow:be {a spring manifesto}
Hello Spring,
I know you have been here a few days now. You come and go though when you feel like it like today it's all sunny and tomorrow it is supposed to rain. Even so, your flowers are blooming. They are everywhere and beautiful. Trees are turning green again. Easter is this coming Sunday although we are celebrating Saturday because that is just how it works best this year.
So far spring, you've been kind of hard on me...darn allergies and a cold too. Today I even took one daughter to the doctor for what was determined to be just a post nasal drip...twenty dollars later. We went to Portland. It was just what I needed - a break from routine and retail therapy.
I feel spring that you are helping me see the things that I want more of in my life. I know what I want and what else is just baggage. Today I packed up quite a bit for donation. William Morris says - "Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful" so that is what I am working on doing.
Spring, I want to make bread...with gluten. I wish for leisurely weekend mornings with coffee and fresh bread toasted with jelly (after I go running of course). I'd enjoy more gardening but perhaps less hiking. I hope for strolls through farmers markets and ferry trip rides.
I plan to save up for a birthday present for myself. I desire to take better pictures. I want to figure out exposure. I like to knit and sew but I need to read fiction too. I have GoldFinch on hold.
I also need to get more rest and quiet time. I long to write more openly without fear of being found out. I aspire to be a better wife, daughter, mother and friend purposely in that order.
That's probably more than enough for now.
