I'm better. Honestly, I am my worst enemy that and my mother's daughter. Although, I think I am fighting a cold too. This morning I overslept. The typical excuse of my alarm didn't go off. It helps to plug your phone charger into the wall. Before I came to the full realization that something wasn't right, I was resting peacefully and half consciously listening to the birds out the window.
We are about to enter a new season. I feel a summer manifesto in the works perhaps even a summer series. New routines and rituals. I'm craving simplicity and ease yet also days where I say the heck with everything. I don't have the luxury of slow summer mornings except for the weekends. I do have the afternoons to fill with walks, gardening, reading, knitting and the like. I'm ready. This shift feels right.

"That and my mother's daughter"...my heart and prayers are with you my friend. You are doing good...speaking it out, moving with it, through it...I'm here for you. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI feel the shift too and I am so ready for it! I always think the summers will be slow, but they actually rarely are. But it is a different kind of busy than the school year routine. Your afternoons sound like bliss. I may have to take a page from your book. I have found that working makes me more intentional in my leisure time. It's a good thing.

Summer slow down has already begun for me. At home and at work....I am ready for later mornings at the office and early release on Fridays. I plan to soak this summer up.
