make:

This week more than anything...I made time.

Time for a few things I enjoy. I read a book. I finished a sweater. I started another book and started another sweater. It feels really good to finish things and that feeling good creates momentum. One day I did everything in 15 minute intervals including a 15 minute nap. Those are the best naps for me. If I rest sometimes for even just 10 minutes I find it very refreshing. I do get up at the crack of dawn or actually before the crack of dawn so a nap is needed most days.

I was gifted a new book this week too...Brene Brown's book, The Gifts of Imperfection. It was totally unexpected. I didn't even know the person all that well, 80 year old man who had lost his wife just 3 weeks ago. He said even at his age, the book was a game changer. I am working my way through it underlining and journaling as I go.

This coming week, I want to make time for planting my garden, finishing these books and knitting on my sweater.  I've decided to take a scheduled media break. I can't swear off email and checking my bank account. I check my bank account daily sometimes twice. However, I will take a break from blogs, pinterest, instagram and anything else I have missed. This is something I want to start to do once a month. (inspiration here).  I'm looking forward to it as it is something I have been considering for a while.

I talk A LOT in my job, like I talk to A LOT of people each and every day and I LOVE that part of my job (which is why I think I struggled a bit when I wasn't working but that's another story). However, I also LOVE quiet and spending time alone too. Sometimes there are so many voices in between real life and online that I just know that I need to take some time to hear my own.

Hoping to get some pics up from the garden/yard tomorrow before signing off until next Sunday evening although we'll see. It is Mother's Day tomorrow. I am taking my mom to the Farmers Market and for coffee first thing...a few of my favorite things!! So, just in case...

Happy Mother's day!!

Does this thing still work?

Wow.  There was so much dust on this blog, I needed two rags to clean it off. Hello blog, how are you?  I know it’s been a while and yes, ...
