There is so much happening right now. This last week found me even saying yes to working one more day a week. Yes, to working Thursdays because it really only makes sense. I should back up. A few months ago I requested a move - both in locations and shifts. It was after a horrible morning commute. I was just about done. It took a few months to have my requests filled but it happened last Tuesday. My new work is just 15 minutes from home and my hours are 5-1:30. No more getting home at 7:00 to my family. Answer to prayer for sure.
I'm sitting here this morning probably for the longest time all week. It has been g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s in the PNW. I even skipped cleaning the bathrooms yesterday because I knew clouds were forecasted for today. I brought home a wagon full of flowers and herbs from the local nursery and spent the entire afternoon outside yesterday. Josh even went so far as to say the backyard is looking good. I completely agree.
Before I head out for a run, we have ourselves a little chicken situation. Those are not my chickens eggs pictured above. After a little research, I've determined we have two meat chickens. They are HUGE compared to the others. One is rooster too (they are pictured above). I am quite sad. Some chickens have been bred to gain weight quickly so they fatten up in hardly no time at all. They eat a lot and don't walk very well. This describes these two perfectly. So, we don't know what to do. My dad (past farmer) and I will discuss our little situation at Tori's state cup semi -final game this afternoon. Yes, I had to throw that in - if they win, they will play in the finals tomorrow.
I still have a few things that need planting and those chickens are ready to be let out this morning.
Congrats on you new job! I'd love to her more about it. From your instagram pic- it looks lovely. Good luck to Tori at soccer today! That is awesome!
ReplyDeleteAwesome about the new job! I'm VERY happy for you...God is looking out for us for sure!
ReplyDeleteMeat chickens? Oh dear...how did that happen? :(
Meat chickens... Hmmm.. Well..everything happens for a reason. Have to say I purchased a few local meat chickens from a farmer friend ad it was the best chicken I ever had. I'll be interested to see what your dad says. Mine would say...dinner!
ReplyDeleteAH! These pictures are amazing! I especially love the first two. I've been playing around with ISO like you must be, and figured out how to get that filmy, grainy, low light luminescent look like this! So perdy! Also, congratulations!!
ReplyDeletethank you Mckenzie - I do change my ISO depending on the lighting or lack of lighting. We also just got lightroom which is quite fun. My son tells me that our eyes actually prefer this filmy, grainy look - I didn't know that myself - I've just always liked it.
DeleteHooray for the new work hours and a shorter commute. You must be loving being home so much earlier
