make: lavender lemonade

Someone asked me today if I liked summer. I had to stop to think before I answered. Yes, I guess but my favorite time of year is spring and fall. I have to go to bed early and that is hard when it is still light out!

Perhaps my favorite thing about summer though is the whole gardening and harvesting process. Something I want to get better at every opportunity. I am off to a fairly good start but I can tell by comparing my garden this year to last year at this time, it is a bit behind.  Of course, I may have planted later which I am pretty sure I did. And, I did plant everything by seed this year.

Lavender is surely my favorite when it comes to backyard herbs. Everything about it I love. The kids didn't think they would like lavender lemonade. It would be just another one of my silly concoctions that I profess to be really good and they should try it for themselves to see.

The process is really quite simple, I follow this recipe. I think the weather has to be a little on the warm side to really enjoy it. While I most certainly don't want it real hot here anytime soon, I am hoping the weather will call for me making more at some point this weekend.
