I've been on another hike. There are two hikes really close to the cabin. They are both marked as challenging in the guide and this last hike is one of the steepest trails in the Olympic National Park. I can really attest to that fact now.
I can't even expresss how amazing Saturday morning was over there. Between the leaves, the blue sky, the lake and the challenging trail, I felt like I was in another world.
I had a goal of completing the hike (6.4 miles and 3500 feet elevation gain) in four hours and I succeeded almost to the minute. Had I not taken so many pictures, I would have probably taken more like 3.5 hours. Afterwards I got to thinking that I was moving for 4 hours straight.
Rule number one - Don't hike alone. I know it stinks and you've heard it a million times.. Glad you are looking at some groups. If I was there I'd go with you...hugs
ReplyDeleteBrave. If you're brave enough to do it, then you totally should. Good for you. And strong. And determined. And living your life as you need to...sometimes we have to do what's good for US. And if being out there in the quiet and the fresh air gives you a clear head to come home and deal with the daily stress of life, then I say go for it. You are taking care of you... like they say with the oxygen mask on the airplane, you have to give your SELF oxygen first if you're going to be able to give any to others. xo
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I envy how close you are to all that beauty!
